I wish all Hindus a very happy new year which is celebrated in great devotion and fasting in remembrance of their supreme God.

Spirituality is fundamental to a prosperous life in any religion. Fasting on the night of Lord Shiva is a spiritually sacred ritual for all Hindus seeking liberation.

Hindus believe that this sacred ritual will release to them the spiritual power of God. Maha Shiva Rathri is the day to wish prosperity in life.

Today, Hindus believe that worshiping together can bring many benefits. By working together with different ethnicities and religions, you have the opportunity to create a better future for yourself as well as to the country. It is my belief that fasting on the night of Maha Shiva Rathri is very important to properly achieve the aspirations of living for such a strong future.

You wish light to a life shrouded in darkness as you wish happiness to a saddened heart on a day such as this.

May all aspirations of all Sri lankan Hindus who are fasting on the night of Maha Shiva Rathri come true!!

இந்து மக்கள் அனைவரதும் முழுமுதற் கடவுளான சிவபெருமானை நினைந்து விரதம் அனுட்டித்துஇ பக்தியோடு கொண்டாடும் மகா சிவராத்திரி எனும் புனித நன்னாளிலேஇ இந்த வாழ்த்துச் செய்தியினைக் கூறிக் கொள்வதில் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன்.

எல்லா மதங்களினதும் வளமான வாழ்க்கைக்கு ஆன்மீகமே அடிப்படையானது.

இந்துக்கள் அனைவராலும் புனிதமாக அனுட்டிக்கப்படும் விரத தினங்களிலேஇ மகா சிவராத்திரி மகோன்னதமானது.

இந்நன்னாள் இந்துமக்கள் அனைவராலும் ஆன்மீக உணர்வோடு சிறப்புற அனுட்டிக்கப்படும் சுபீட்சத்துக்கான பெருநாளாகும்.

இந்த புனித வழிபாட்டின் ஊடாக கடவுளின் ஆன்மீக சக்தி தமக்கு கிடைக்கும் என்று இந்து மக்கள் நம்புகின்றனர்.

செழிப்பானதொரு வாழ்க்கைப் பயணத்திற்கு ஆன்மீக உணர்வு அடிப்படையான ஒன்று. இன்றைய தினத்தில் அனைவரும் ஒருமித்த ஆன்மீக உணர்வோடு வழிபாடு செய்வதன் ஊடாக பல நன்மைகள் கைகூடும் என்பது இந்து மக்களின் நம்பிக்கையாகும்.

பல்வேறு இனத்தவர்களும் மதத்தவர்களும் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுவதன் மூலம்இ உங்களுக்கும் நாட்டிற்கும் சிறந்த எதிர்காலத்தை உருவாக்குவதற்கான வாய்ப்பு கிட்டும். இலங்கைத் தாயின் மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் ஆரோக்கியமானதும் சுபீட்சம் மிக்கதும் அபிலாஷைகள் எல்லாம் கைகூடும் ஒரு எதிர்காலம் அமைய இந்த சிவராத்திரி தினம் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது என்பது எனது நம்பிக்கை.

துன்பங்கள் என்ற இருள் நீங்கி இன்ப ஒளி எங்கும் பரவ வேண்டித் துதிக்கும் பக்தி மிகுந்த இந்த நாளிலே அனைவருக்கும் சௌபாக்கியமே கிடைக்க இறையருளை மனதார வேண்டித் துதிப்போம்.

இந்த உன்னதமான மகாசிவராத்திரி தினத்தில் இலங்கை வாழ் இந்து மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நலமே விளையட்டும்! நாடு நலம் பெறட்டும்!
